What buffalo hunts can you book in Tennessee for under $3,000?

What $3,000 actually gets you

That price is per animal, not per day and not per person — you're paying for the cow, not the calendar. It includes lodging and meals; it doesn't include a Tennessee hunting license, and more on that below.

Tennessee's whole bison market is six outfitters selling ten packages, and eight of those carry a real price. Line them up and $3,000 is the floor, not the middle: bull hunts and flat-rate packages at the other five outfitters run $3,250 to $5,995. Standing Rock's cow hunt is the one place in the state where "under $3,000" and "a real bison hunt" are the same sentence.

One mix-up worth avoiding: Bridgecreek Farms also lists a hunt starting at $3,000 — its Water Buffalo Hunt. That's a different animal, not bison, and it isn't on this list. If a listing just says "buffalo" and doesn't say bison or bull or cow, check which one you're being quoted before you call.

Why there's no license table here

Bison hunts in Tennessee run on licensed private wildlife preserves, and Tennessee law (Tenn. Code Ann. § 70-4-413, TWRA Rule 1660-01-11) exempts hunters on those preserves from the standard state hunting license. Goodman Ranch, one of the six outfitters in this market, says the same thing on its own site: licenses apply "only on Whitetail and Turkey Hunts." Budget for the $3,000, the guide's tip, and the meat-processing or taxidermy add-ons if you want them — not a state tag.

Standing Rock Hunting Lodge carries 15 Google reviews, all five stars, averaging 5.00 — the newest from January. None of them names bison or buffalo by name; the outfitter also runs hog, turkey, and several exotic-species hunts, so most of the writing is about those. The best of the pool: "We absolutely loved our hunting trip! Johnny is the best guide in Tennessee. And Christopher helped us each step of the way. Couldn't have asked for a better time." Read the rating as evidence about the outfitter, not about this specific hunt.
